How old is Vintage?
Before a certain event? exactly so many years? before you were born? before your parents were born?
Do these change depending on what they are?
So I got a few vintage cards, here's the one's from 1949 to 1959!
Let's work backwards
1958 Topps #476 - Stan Musial AS TP
I don't think I could add anything new to what has been said about him in the past, one of america's greatest people.
1957 Topps #112 Tom Brewer
A nice card of a Red Sox player.
Brewer played 8 years in the Majors all for Boston.
The 1956 All Star's record was 91-82.
733 Strikeouts and a 4.00 ERA.
1955 Bowman #110 - Bob Miller
Miller had 10 years in the bigs all the while with the Phillies, he appeared in the 1950 World Series.
He was an even 42 - 42.
3.96 ERA & tossed 822 Innings
1950 Bowman #152 - Ellis Kinder Rookie Card
Another Sox player, Kinder also played for the White Sox, Cardinals & Browns.
He was 1949 The Sporting news Pitcher of the Year.
His most notable stat is that he won 102 games and saved 102 games.
1949 Bowman #102 - Stan Spence Rookie Card
This 1949 card is now the oldest in my collection, sure there's a little damage but its 63 years young.
Spence had 2 spells with the Red Sox, along with the Senators & Browns.Of course most if not all of 1949 cards are RC's.
I'd like to think this cards original owner was the child of a world war 2 veteran buying his son a card and a stick of gum, on a sunny afternoon, the ideals many men fought and died for!
Hope you like this post and these cards.
So what do you think of vintage cards?
